This year’s conference will be about Irrationality. In contemporary times we are faced with an increasing amount of decisions. While making decisions, individuals rely primarily on their sense of rationality. Interestingly, current research shows that we may not be the rational animals we think we are. Hence, the question begs to what extent rationality suffices as a tool for decision making. Even more so, where does irrationality come in to play? With respect to these questions we think that this conference will provide an interesting opportunity for both students and professors to exchange ideas. In doing so, we might advance one step further in answering a major question in psychological research: why do people do the things they do, and why do they do it wrong so often?

During the conference we will shed light on these questions. The subject will be presented from different angles, such as social psychology, neuropsychology and clinical psychology.
The VSPA Conference on Irrationality will be held at the Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
