(Ir)rational purchasing behaviors

The homo economicus, the rational human being who always takes the optimum decision, does not exist. This is the origin of the failures of economic models and crashes on the stock market. But what does determine our behavior when purchasing objects, changing our jobs, or investing our money? Recent research shows which parts of the brain should be and should not be used for this. Can we use our brains for economic gain? That is what we will find out during this lecture.
